The brand

Welcome !

Les pensionnaires is a brand of household linen and accessories that creates elegant and refined pieces from high-quality fabrics.

Evoking in turn the mythical Villa Medici, the prestigious Comédie Française, a welcoming boarding house or a not-so-mature dormitory, the residents evoke the history of places of reception, sharing, exchange and creation

Local manufacturing in Portugal

The French brand, based in Lyon, has its fabrics woven, printed and made all of its collections with care and respect for the environment in Porto in Portugal, imbued with a great textile tradition. A local production that is close to the heart of the designer Elsa Garaix, to be able to visit the artisans with whom she works very regularly and to offer products that have not traveled the world before arriving at your home.
Our partner workshops are OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified, our fabrics are 100% natural fibers, 70% of them are GOTS Label organic cotton, the inks used are AZO-Free, without heavy metals and dangerous chemicals.

Elsa Garaix, creator of the Les pensionnaires brand

As a child, Elsa dreamed of perfumes and interior design. No doubt sensitive to particular atmospheres. If her professional career included marketing and management consulting, although less atmospheric, she always kept a personal taste for creation, which she experimented with at the same time, through the creation of jewelry and glass blowing. After having branched off, like many in search of meaning, towards the world of culture within the Institut Lumière in Lyon (and alongside Thierry Frémaux, director of the Cannes Festival), she launched in 2017 on challenge of a personal business. A synthesis of his creative aspirations, which summon beautiful materials and moments of humanity, lasting harmony and fond memories, his brand captures his sensitivity in the most beautiful long-staple combed cotton percale. A material which for her echoes the ideal large houses, from luxury residences to family addresses, and to precious moments of vacation or intimate happiness. Since then, it has been weaving its collections of household linen, made as close as possible to expert workshops in the north of Portugal, in a timeless style that adorns the soul of the place, faithful to the refined spirit of its occupants.
